Noticed our Sam's Club was clearing out the 2000 Joseph Phelps Merlot, but they also had a handful of the 1999 vintage-- picked up several bottles of the '99 for $14.81 a bottle.

100% this. I’ve done this before but I wasn’t the person who arranged it. I do know this is actually pretty common in the area and several companies offer this. Airport to hotel may be trickier, though. Might want to rent 4 budget cars to make the drive, then use van/mini-bus service in Napa. SFO to Napa is a trek.
