Marshall Field & Company (commonly known as Marshall Field's) was an upscale department store in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in the 19th century, it grew to become a large chain before Macy's, Inc acquired it in 2005. Its founder, Marshall Field, was a pioneering retail magnate.

Target, the company's first discount store and eventual namesake, was opened in 1962.
This SuperTarget in Roseville, Minnesota (Store #2101), sits on the site of the first Target store (Store #1), which opened in 1962 and was torn down and replaced by this much larger store in 2005. In 1968, Target updated its bullseye logo, opting for a more modern look, and expanded into St. Louis, Missouri , with two new stores.

The Marshall Field and Company Building is a National Historic Landmark retail building on State Street in Chicago, Illinois. Now housing Macy's State Street, the Beaux-Arts and Commercial style complex was designed by architect Daniel Burnham and built in two stages—north end in 1901–02 (including columned entrance) and south end in 1905–06.
