k-Lite Code was used to provide code packs to media players which didn't have their own like WMP. VLC media player has its own codec which is built as part of VLC itself. This is safe to use and is even available as Windows 10 app on Microsoft Store. If you are doubtful about VLC, you should use Microsoft Store VLC app.
My recommendation would be to uninstall both JetAudio Player and K-Lite Codecs Pack and replace with VLC Media Player. There's no need to install a codecs package. There's no need to install a codecs package.
This is for windows 11 system. I use freeware players and need to down load codec packs containing ffdshow for the ac3 codec. I was thinking K-lite mega but not sure where it is safe to download it
1- Download the video again. The original file might be incomplete. 2- Try watching the video in a different media player. The first media player may not have the necessary codecs for the video. Commercially-made video rarely has this problem. The problem usually appears when you try to view a homemade video. David-M.

I can't guarantee it won't interfere with your OBS desktop recording... It depends on where it gets it's codecs...
KLite codec pack is a well respected software for adding video & audio codecs to Windows, if you use video & audio editing software then it may be beneficial. If you see an update screen then it is already installed & is informing you there’s an update. I have this installed & have seen no unusual activity. Virginia - Time Lady.

i have heard from the community to install "k-lite codec package" to correct windows media player problems. how do i do that? i run windows xp pro sp3 and windows media player 11 This thread is locked.
Uninstall and Reinstall Windows Media Player. To Uninstall - Type appwiz.cpl in Windows Start Search box (Cortana) > Click appwiz.cpl > Turn Windows features on or off > Scroll down to Media Features and uncheck Windows Media Player > Reboot the computer. To Install - Check Windows Media Player in above step > Reboot the Computer.
