This map of Ohio was originally published by the C. S. Hammond's Company of New York in 1909, then again in 1911, including the population figures determined by the 1910 United States Census. It shows the counties, cities, and congressional district boundaries, as well as railroads, canals, and interurban lines.
On March 1, 1803, Ohio was admitted to the union as the 17th state. Settlement of Ohio was chiefly by migrants from New England, New York and Pennsylvania. Southerners settled along the southern part of the territory, arriving by travel along the Ohio River from the Upper South.
